Hi Katherine, Thanks for getting in touch. We do not perform christenings so cannot help on this occasion.
John Edmonds (Pastor)
Hello Pastor Edmonds, I have a question… I am a christian I was Baptised last March. and so was my Son. We currently worship in a church in Cwmbran, however as I am planning on getting married in 2012 when I approached my current Pastor he refused as my husband to be is not yet a christian something that i pray for daily of course. I was wondering if this was policy for all baptist churches. If you could answer the question of whether you would be able to perform a marriage ceremony for us or not I would be most grateful. It is my aim to worship within the church i intend to marry in. I believe that church is not a building you attend for several sessions and get married and never return. My church is a big part of my life, They are my family and without whom I cannot hope to feed my spiritual life. I believe that it is fundamental to find a church that suits you and whom you suit to. As it is an extension of your life you must feel comfortable and at home. As this does not still feel the case at my present church I am actively seeking a new place of worship… but there would be no point if you are not able to marry us either. If you could get back to me as soon as possible I understand that this Holy week you are very busy but a quick response would be much appreciated. Thank you Debbie
Hi Debra,
Thanks for your enquiry. Our church rules also would not allow me to conduct the wedding of a Christian to a non-christian. I think what you have said about the church being relationships between believers more than a building is really important. I would encourage you to talk again with your pastor and ask him to show you from the bible why he holds the view he does and try to understand how you can move forward as a believer, growing in your relationship with the Lord and his people. Yours in Christ Jesus,
John Edmonds
