At Pontrhydyrun Baptist Church our Pastor, John Edmonds, has faithfully led the church for 13 years. Over the last few months God has been calling him to a new challenge and a new role as Pastor of Freshbrook Evangelical Church in Swindon, a challenge which he accepted earlier this month.
Whilst we are pleased that John has been willing to step out in faith and listen to God’s will in this matter this does leave us with the need to call a new Pastor to lead our fellowship, to open God’s word to us and to oversee the life of the church.
Over the coming weeks and months we the leadership of the Church, in collaboration with John, will be working out a “job specification”, and putting together information which people who are interested in the role of Pastor would find helpful. To start with, our statement of faith is here;

The church is situated in the small town of Cwmbran, in the South Wales Valleys borough of Torfaen, which has a population of around 47,000 people. There are several Evangelical churches in reasonably close proximity and we are involved in the Torfaen and District Gospel Partnership.
The church is affiliated with the FIEC, and is a Reformed Baptist church.
